We have several clients operating in international trade, sports and entertainment but our work files are diverse and our clients work across different sectors. Students may gain exposure to Hong Kong, Canadian and Southeast Asia work files as well. Experience gained will be useful to talk about during interviews with law firms and prospective long-term employers after graduation. 职位描述 Job Description Requirements: the opportunity is available for a PRC law student who is proficient in English and is interested in working for a full-service international law firm that specializes in assisting Canadian and other international clients with business law, intellectual property and litigation matters in China. Job Responsibilities: (1) Drafting commercial and other contracts in English (2) Translating contracts from English to Chinese language (3) Legal research on PRC laws and regulations (4) Assistance with incorporations of Joint Ventures (JVs) and Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprises (WFOEs) (5) Assistance with Intellectual Property matters (e.g. trademark registrations, IP licensing agreements, IP theft cases, etc.). Communicating with our trademark and patent lawyers, summarizing information and reporting results to our partners (6) Assistance with research prior to and during litigation cases. Communicating with our litigation lawyers and assisting them during arbitrations and court cases (7) Client meetings (occasionally). Attending initial client meetings to understand the needs of clients and to assist with translations during advisory meetings Work Hours: This is a part-time and flexible position. Students may work from home but will occasionally be asked to meet with our lawyers at our office in Plaza 66 (between Nanjing West Road and Jing’an Temple Metro Station). The candidate who accepts this position and performs well will be invited to continue to assist with the job responsibilities above on a part-time basis after graduating and securing a full-time position at another law firm. Alternatively, this position could also lead to an offer for a full-time opportunity at our firm. Salary (hourly rate): similar rates to first year lawyers working at PRC firms that provide services to international clients.
