HSBC Technology China

Our technology teams in China are part of the global HSBC Technology Function, which develops and maintains the information technology systems of the HSBC Group. We pride ourselves on quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Established in 2000, our teams provide comprehensive end-to-end IT services for HSBC s global businesses and functions. We have many IT jobs across our sites in Guangzhou and Xi an. These include roles for: engineers; testers; infrastructure delivery teams; project managers; business analysts; scrum masters; operational support teams, and solution architects.

Technology Graduate Programme

On this two-year graduate programme you will join our global Technology team. You will help to develop technologies that will improve the way we serve our customers and transform one of the world s leading international banks.

We re looking for candidates with a keen interest in Technology, preferably with a degree in Computer Science or other undergraduate/postgraduate degree that includes Technology-related modules, such as Engineering or Mathematics.

Requirements:

- You have obtained or working towards a 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA if you are studying in China or a 2:1 or equivalent degree if you are studying outside of China (as appears on your official university transcript or Degree certificate).

- Be fluent in English and Mandarin.

- Be legally permitted to work in mainland China.

Q: Can I apply for more than 1 role under different Programme?

A: No. We ask candidates to make an informed decision by first reviewing the different business areas and location sections of this website. We encourage you to come and meet us at one of our career events. Different programmes may have different requirements so you should think carefully about which is most aligned to your skills and interests. However, if it becomes clear during the recruitment process that you are more suited to a different business area, we will discuss this with you.

Q: What happens after I apply for the Technology Graduate Programme？

A: If you fulfil our eligibility requirements, you will be invited to take our online immersive assessment. If you're successful, you will be invited to complete the Job Simulation through taking part in a video interview which will have a number of questions in a variety of formats. If you are successful after the Job Simulation you will be invited to attend our Assessment Centre/Super Day.

Q:How can I do well at my interview?

A:We will expect you to know the key facts about HSBC. Prepare by having a good look around our corporate website, read the news and talk to anyone you know who is working for us or has worked for us in the past. Be ready to explain your motivation for joining HSBC, the financial industry and the specific business area you have applied to. During your interview, show that you are interested in the role and in working for HSBC. Don t be shy about selling yourself. Describe your previous experience and highlight relevant skills and qualities.

This is a two-way process, so you will be given plenty of opportunities to ask us questions that will help you decide whether HSBC is right for you.

Q:How can I track my application?

A:You can see how your application is progressing by logging in using your e-mail address and password. If you have not received a further update, your application is under review and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Q:Will I receive feedback if unsuccessful?

A:We are unable to provide feedback to you at all stages of the recruitment process. However, you will receive feedback after the Online Immersive Assessment where you will receive a report providing information on your strengths, where you have performed well and areas to support your development. Following Assessment Centres/Super Days we will also aim to provide you feedback from one of our recruiters.
