Post Specification

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Program Development: Design and implement career development programs and internship placement initiatives tailored to undergraduate students, with a focus on enhancing job search skills.

2. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the career services team, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver effective career coaching, workshops, and networking opportunities.

3. Employer Relations: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with employers to create internship and job opportunities for students, organizing recruitment events and employer engagement activities.

4. International Student Support: Develop targeted initiatives to assist international students in navigating career opportunities, including workshops on cultural adaptation and job search strategies.

5. Graduate School Liaison: Collaborate with admissions teams at top-ranked graduate schools to provide relevant information and support for students interested in pursuing further education.

6. Mentorship Programs: Oversee and enhance mentorship initiatives that connect students with industry professionals, providing guidance and support for career planning.

7. Student Relationship Building: Foster close relationships with students throughout their undergraduate journey, offering continuous support and personalized guidance to ensure their career readiness and success.

8. Skill Development: Work closely with faculty to identify skill gaps in students and develop programs to enhance their employability and readiness for the job market.

9. Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and analyze career placement data and student feedback to assess program effectiveness and continuously improve services.

10. Resource Management: Manage the budget and resources of the Career Development Center to ensure optimal service delivery and alignment with strategic goals.

11. Networking and Outreach: Attend industry conferences and seminars to stay informed about job market trends and network with potential employers and partners.

12. Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the Career Development Center.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Education:

-Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.

-Advanced degrees in Career Development, Human Resources, or Educational Leadership can also be beneficial.

2. Work Experience:

-Career Services: Significant experience in career development within higher education, focusing on student placement and internship programs.

-Human Resources: Background in HR, particularly in recruitment or talent development, to understand employer needs and job market trends.

-Corporate Experience: Experience in a corporate environment (e.g., finance, consulting, or technology) to provide insights into industry practices and expectations.

3. Management Experience:

-Proven track record of leading teams, preferably in a career services or educational setting, with a focus on mentorship and team development.

4. Networking and Relationship Building:

-Strong ability to build relationships with employers, alumni, and other stakeholders to enhance career opportunities for students.

5. International Experience:

-Experience working with diverse populations and international students, understanding their unique career challenges and opportunities.

6. Skills:

-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

-Strategic thinking and the ability to develop innovative career programs.

-Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for career services.

Salary and Benefits

Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-SZ and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable in the PRC. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, PRC.
