Your Role and Responsibilities

● Conduct research and technology development in the field of power electronics used in variable speed drives.
● Study the basic principle and analyze the root causes of existing issues in products.
● Track cutting-edge technology in variable speed drives. Scan local science and technology progress in power electronics relevant for variable speed drives.
● Build long-term collaborations with global research teams and local academic societies.
● Execute research projects and keep communicating and networking with all related stakeholders.
● Adhere to ABB integrity and compliance policies.

Qualifications for the Role

● Ph.D. degree in power electronics or other related electrical engineering majors.
● Solid theoretical background in the following areas with publications in renowned transactions / journals.
● Variable speed drive topologies
● Magnetic component design
● Power semiconductors application (Such as device modeling, gate drive, heat dissipation design, condition monitoring, failure analysis, etc.)
● AC/DC and DC/DC power converters
● EMC design
● Experiences of the following areas is a plus:
● PCBA design
● General programming skills on DSP or FPGA.
● Hands-on experience in commissioning.
● Self-motivated, high curiosity and able to work under pressure.
● Team player with communication and interpersonal skills
● Good in both oral and written English
