Laboratory Introduction

KINDY Lab is affiliated with the Department of Applied Psychology, School of Humanities and Social Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. The Principal Investigator is Prof. Runke Huang, currently Assistant Professor of the School of Humanities and Social Science. Our research team conducts interdisciplinary research on the use of artificial intelligence in early childhood development and education, with a particular focus on AI-assisted assessment of teacher–child interaction quality, child development, and related applications in educational practice.

The project involves collaboration with universities, education authorities, kindergartens, technical teams, and international research partners. We aim to connect advances in artificial intelligence with rigorous educational research and meaningful applications in kindergarten settings.

Position

Research Assistant

Job Description

Applicants should have:

1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in education, psychology, child development, artificial intelligence, data science, or a related field, together with relevant experience or a strong interest in AI-enabled education.

2. Strong organizational, coordination, and project-execution skills; and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Fluency in Mandarin and strong English reading, writing, and communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate with international collaborators.

3. Availability to work full-time in Shenzhen and willingness to travel frequently to kindergartens. Experience in classroom observation, child assessment, research project management, data analysis, or AI applications in education is preferred.

Job Duties include:

1. Research and assessment support: Contribute to research on AI-assisted teacher–child interaction quality and child development, including literature and research documentation, classroom observation, child assessment.

2. Develop and monitor project plans and coordinate collaboration among universities, education authorities, kindergartens, technical teams, and local and international partners.

3. Support the recruitment, training, and coordination of research assistants and assessors; prepare training slides, operational manuals, and project documentation; and assist with project records, reimbursement, and other necessary administrative tasks.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Salary will be comparable to international standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.

职位说明

应聘者须具备：

1. 具有教育学、心理学、儿童发展、人工智能、数据科学或相关专业的本科或硕士学位，并具有AI赋能教育方面的相关经验或浓厚兴趣。

2. 具备较强的组织协调和项目执行能力，能够独立工作并同时推进多项任务；普通话流利，具备良好的英文阅读、写作和沟通能力，能够与国际合作者开展工作交流。

3. 能够在深圳全职工作，并愿意经常前往幼儿园开展实地工作。具有课堂观察、儿童测评、科研项目管理、数据分析或AI教育应用经验者优先。

工作职责包括：

1. 参与AI辅助师幼互动质量评估和儿童发展研究，包括文献与研究资料整理、课堂观察及儿童测评等工作。

2. 制定并跟进项目计划，协调高校、教育行政部门、幼儿园、技术团队以及国内外合作伙伴之间的沟通与合作。

3. 协助研究助理和测评人员的招募、培训与协调；制作培训课件、操作手册及项目材料；协助开展项目档案管理、报销及其他必要的行政支持工作。
