Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Finance Operations Accounting and Analysis (FOAA) organization. The FOAA accounting organization supports Amazon’s financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities and also supports new business launches globally for Amazon in the consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for driving deep insights and continuous improvement using the analysis. The person should have a detailed understanding of a business requirement or the ability to quickly get to the root cause of a particular business issue, and draft solutions to meet requirements or resolve the root problems. The person should be able to provide technical solution required by FOAA stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, managing through ambiguity and complexity and while supporting multiple simultaneous projects.

Some of the key result areas include, but not limited to:
61 Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.
61 Work closely with managers and stakeholders to understand report needs and automate processes when necessary.
61 Understand trends related to FOAA and recommend strategies to stakeholders to help drive process excellence. Respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
61 Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.

Key job responsibilities

Improve tools (e.g data-warehouse infrastructure/AWS S3/EMR), dashboards, queries, reports, and scripts that will automate recurring tasks for stakeholders while ensuring data quality and integrity. Ensuring accuracy of data and data analysis is of utmost importance.
61 Identify, design and develop data source discovery efforts across databases and identify data/table links/joins between data/table sets. Uphold highest standard for ETL jobs/Queries/Code/Scripts.
61 Learn, publish, analyze and improve management information dashboards, financial metrics decks and key performance indicators.
61 Work with Continuous Improvement team and Project teams to translate business requirement into proof of concept, project resource, and timeline estimate.
61 Work with technical teams/software-developers across geographies to ensure accurate and sufficient data inflow in systems or data-warehouses used by FOAA.

Basic qualifications
61 Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
61 Strong skills in accessing and using analytical tools (i.e. SQL, Excel, Databases etc.)
61 Advanced analytical skills and detail-oriented, while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
61 Strong communication skill and team player.
61 Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload.

Preferred qualifications
61 Demonstrated ability with Data-warehousing, database administrator roles, database migration. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, scripting, code reviews.
61 Familiarity ETL tools.
61 Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operation.
61 Experience of working in one or more reporting tools.
61 Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting systems using automation tools. 公司简要介绍:
