Job Description
Position Overview:
Library serves as a major service area for faculty, students, and staff. Librarians answer a variety of questions in person, by phone, and via email and instant messaging. Interns may be asked to assist librarians from time to time in the performance of specific tasks such as serving on information desk to help provide public service and checking orders in variety of formats. By working in the library, interns will gain knowledge in library processes, learn strong public service ethics, and develop critical thinking skills.

Library Coordinator for Learning Resource Management

Essential Duties:
l Assist in organizing library orientations, book fairs, book clubs, and other activities, with a focus on event documentation and digital promotion (e.g., photography, video recording, and social media content creation).
l Create and edit digital content for library promotions, including WeChat Official Account posts, event posters (created using tools like Canva/Photoshop), and short videos.
l Acquire basic information retrieval skills to answer simple questions related to textbook policy.
l Learn the circulation system to provide services at the library front desk.
l Shelve and maintain the library's print collection.
l Help troubleshoot public printers and computers; provide basic technical support and training to students using library public equipment.
l Help receive and process library materials.
l Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
l At least finishing second year in undergraduate program. Or recent graduate who have already received admissions offer for further study.
l High-level professionalism.
l Strong public service orientation and exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
l Extremely organized, strong attention to detail and a fast learner.
l Ability to handle busy situations in a positive and responsible way.
l Strong English writing and verbal skills.
l Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
l Major in library & information science or related field preferred.
