YOUR ROLE
As a Vessel Operation and Cargo Operation Officer, you will responsible for ensuring that the vessel and cargo operation proceed smoothly and safely at the terminal. A key part of the job is to make sure that all export cargo complies with AMS (Automated Manifest System), ENS (Entry Summary Declaration), and VGM (Verified Gross Mass) rules. Additionally, the role involves ensuring that all reports related to cargo and vessel operations are completed properly and on time. The job is divided into two main areas: 70% of the work involves vessel planning and document operations, while the remaining 30% focuses on communication and cooperation with all relevant parties. This balance is crucial to maintain efficient and effective operations.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO
In this role, you will be expected to perform professionally by dedicating to below responsibilities:
1. Operations
- Keep close communication with HQ、Master、terminal、state agency before vessel arrival. Send relevant information to all parties. Fix the vessel’s berthing schedule
- To prepare the correct discharge bayplan
- To ensure all the export cargo (local cargo and transshipment cargo) are well prepared for shipping by checking the cargo data (POD, weight, AMS, ENS, VGM)
- Prepare the loading bayplan in terminal based on the bayplan from plan center.
- Boarding the vessel after vessel alongside. Check the loading bayplan with C/O onboard to make sure the loading and discharging operation can be done smoothly and safely. Keep close coordination with C/O and port authorities to solve any issues to ensure vessel departure on time.
- Standby in office while vessel’s alongside in terminal. Quick action to fix all problems happened between vessel and terminal. Ensure vessel operation in terminal smoothly and safely.
- Send the final loading bayplan to next port and planning center after vessel leaves Shanghai. Input & upload all the loading data in local system and group system as per fixed timeline.
2. Communication and co-operation with relevant parties,
- Before vessel alongside, communicate with local state agent and commercial team & DOC team, to make sure all the export cargoes are well prepared.
- When vessel alongside, optimize stowage plan and protect each qualified container loaded/discharged.
- After vessel departure, prepare the correct loading and discharging volume to related departments.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
You will be a great fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree with major in maritime and logistics management.
- 1+ year working experience in vessel operation will be preferred.
- Be proficient in computer applications and office software.
- good command of both spoken and written English
- Familiar with the operation procedure in terminal
- With good communication skills
- Strong sense of responsibility for work
